PSALM 3

The Lord’s My Shield

The Lord’s my shield who brings relief

In troubled times I know he’s there.

When all around I see but grief.

He comes with love my life to spare.

I lay me down in peace to sleep

Sustained by Him who stays awake.

A steadfast eye on me he’ll keep.

Refreshed I’ll be at each daybreak.

Arise, O God, and save my soul.

I know what love you have for me.

So with that love my heart console

And grant me life eternally.

Now from your side I’ll ne’er depart

O bless my life with grace divine

I offer up to you my heart.

Now I am yours and you are mine.

What joy you give to each of us.

Safe in your arms you will us keep.

Your tender care is all-glorious.

Your Son has come!  What peace we reap.
