PSALM 53

The Lord Has Spoken Once Again

The Lord has spoken once again:

“Come tremble now before my throne.

All you on earth who’re filled with sin.

Your evil ways I can’t condone.”

How foolish are the ones who shout:

“There is no God,” we’re to obey.

Those are the words that shut them out

And cause our God to turn away.

“Deny me not,” our God does warn,

For then on you I will pronounce

A day of judgment you will mourn

For then your soul I will renounce.

So listen now to what I say:

“I sent my Son your soul to win.

And on the cross he cleared the way

For me to say you’re mine again”.

Thanks be to God who us did save.

Our only hope is in God’s love.

In Him we trust and he forgave.

His grace shines down from high above.

“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”  The most foolish of people are those who deny the existence of God, for they have shut out the very one who can save them.  Only when God restores us can we be truly happy!
