God is the Way for life and salvation

PSALM 48

All Glory and Honor Be to the Lord

All glory and honor be to the Lord

Now and forevermore.

Mt. Zion is the place where rests his Word.

Here let our praises soar.

Rejoice for God will hear us sing

As we our voices render

And with our hearts before Him bring

All praise as our defender.

Here in God’s house we marvel at his grace.

On Him we meditate.

All honor we give to Him in this place

To Him whose love’s so great.

God is our guide until we die.

He is our God forever.

He is the one who reigns on high.

He is our greatest treasure.

God’s plan is one that we are to follow

Read his Word day by day.

In keeping it God’s love from it flow.

His Word reveals his way.

Sing to the Lord with all your heart.

Sing his praises every day.

We do his will and ne’er depart.

He guides us on our life’s way.

A heavenly place is reserved for us all

When Jesus died for us.

T’will be as the Garden before the Fall.

It is most glorious.

We’ll join the angels as they sing

God be praised forever

Hallelujahs will ever ring.

All life’s ills are over.

Mt. Zion and Jerusalem are a type of the church triumphant.  So also is God’s house of worship here.  Here we see God’s protective care and perpetual assurance of the covenant he has with his people.  Two key words  – God is our DEFENDER and our GUIDE.  Note how David begins and ends this psalm with praises to God.
