The fool does not recognize God but His presence is with us

psalm14-thereisnogod.jpg

PSALM 14

“There is No God”

“There is no God”, the fool says.

Can he not see with his own eyes

How God provides for all our days

In ways that are so good and wise?

How hopeless is the fool’s phrase,

“There is no God,” for then he strays

Into the most unsavery ways

And loses all that God conveys.

While all have gone so far astray

That in God’s house we cannot dwell.

His love won’t let Him turn away.

His Son is our Emmanuel

God saves his own; they fill their days

With joyous hearts that praise his name.

God, help us walk in all your ways

To you in faithfulness remain.

At the source of all sin is the wish that there were no God to whom

one is responsible.  How foolish!   When we fail to acknowledge God

as the one who reaches down in all our sin to rescue us,

 look at what we miss!
