PSALM 8

You Are the Lord

You are the Lord of all you made.

Your majesty is there displayed

You breathed on us, You gave us birth.

You made us lords of all the earth.

SHINE ON US, LORD

O, GRANT US THE GRACE

TO SHARE YOUR GREAT NAME

IN EVERY PLACE.

You gave us charge to work the land.

You made it all by your own hand.

I see the moon; the stars so bright.

You made them all by your great might

With swimming fish You filled the seas.

Birds free to fly above the trees;

The lowing cows, the gentle sheep,

All animals for us to keep.

REFRAIN

Children you taught to sing your praise;

To highest heav’n  their voices raise.

Your majesty fills all the earth.

All praise to You; You gave us birth.
