Almighty God, You Are My Shield

Almighty God, you are my shield

When evil men plot faith’s demise.

Protect me, Lord, that I not yield

My life, my faith to their great lies.

You are my Savior who has come

To rescue me from Satan’s lure.

Without your grace I would succumb

Now in your hands I am secure

O Lord, my God, stand by my side

And guard me from all evil plots.

You sent your Son to be my guide

He has removed all sinful blots.

My Savior gave his life for me.

I thank you, Lord, that he has come

Here in this life I can foresee

The glories of my heav’nly home.

Alleluia! Sing to the Lord.

Behold the gifts He has brought

Life and salvation through his Word

With his own blood, our souls he bought.
