A psalm of praise for all that God has done

Psalm135score.jpg

PSALM 135

Let All Our Hearts Rejoice

Let all our hearts rejoice in praise

Of Christ the Lord for he is good

To him our grateful songs we raise

For us he came to shed his blood

Sing now a hymn of joy

To God who reigns above.

I know my Lord your name is great

Far greater than all other gods

Your name and deeds we celebrate

You work your ways against all odds

Sing now a hymn of joy

To God who reigns above.

The Lord God owns both heav’n and earth

He made the wind; He brought the rain

He’s loved us since before our birth

His victory o’er death, our gain

Sing now a hymn of joy

To God who reigns above.

He chose the patriarchs of old

To set the stage for One to come

Their courage let them speak so bold

Of God’s own Word and our heav’nly home.

Sing now a hymn of joy

To God who reigns above.

God’s priests all speak to us today

Of Christ the gift God sent to earth

Before him we are blest to say

“We praise you, Lord, for our new birth.”

Sing now a new hymn of joy

To God who reigns above.

The first and last words of this psalm certainly set the tone for this as a praise hymn.  Contained in between are all the reasons for our praise.  Now let our praise of God be not only for what he’s done, but simply praise for who he is.
