Lord, How I Long to Hear Your Word

Lord, how I long to hear your Word

It is my shield in times of strife.

Help me to keep what I have heard

And let it be my guide in life.

Lord, in your house I find my place

I feel at peace when you draw near.

There is where you dispense your grace

In Word and Sacrament so clear

Pastors you give to be our guide

In faithfulness they lead us right.

Whene’er our lives with sin collide

They help us keep your Son in sight.

I cannot sleep till I’ve resolved

All of the sin that on me weighs.

Praise to the Lord! I am absolved

For Jesus died there in my place.
