PSALM 130

I Come to You

I come to you with open hand

Lord, in your mercy hear my plea

Before your throne I cannot stand

So Jesus opened the door for me.

REFRAIN:  MY HOPE IS IN THE LORD

WITH HIM I AM CONTENT

I come to you with sins confessed

Each day I know how I did fail

To keep my life from sin suppressed

But thanks to Christ I will prevail.

REFRAIN:

On you, O Lord, my soul does wait

I know my life you will renew.

Help me each day to stand up straight

And live a life that pleases you.

REFRAIN:

On Easter Day you made us new

As Jesus did from death arise

Your promise is forever true

For us you opened Paradise

This is a penitential psalm each one of us would do well to offer to God every day.  We come to God asking him to hear us, then we confess our sins before him.
