We Gather Now to Praise the Lord

We gather now to praise the Lord
Behold our King enthroned on high.
Exalt his name with one accord
He rules on earth and in the sky.

When men of old called on his name
He answered them from pillared cloud.
They walked with him in his domain
And only did what he allowed.

But when they failed and fell to sin
He punished them for their misdeed.
They sought him out to start again
Forgiveness did from him proceed.

The mighty Lord is just and fair
Equality is his desire.
Treat everyone with gentle care
And with God's love do them inspire.

Great is the Lord; O praise his name
Let all the nations hear you sing
of glory his while you proclaim
