PSALM 83

We Come Before You Now

We come before you now, O Lord.
From all that harms us grant release.

Be silent not, but speak your Word

And bring to us a time of peace.

When troubles come and we ask, “why?”

And all our dreams are put on hold

We know our needs you will supply

And in your arms you’ll us enfold.

When things in life cause us dismay.

Make this a time to turn to you

And put our trust in you each day.

Your promise is to us renew.

Know that the Lord hears what you say

And he will answer when you call.

At times his ways are not our way

But never will he let us fall.

O Lord, like wood upon a fire,

Come and consume those who oppose

Your people, Lord, and their desire

To serve Him who from death arose.
